    My Writing

I cannot remember a time when I did not write and following the publication of a non-fiction book by Bettany Press (see below) I am working on a novel called "The Last Robot".

TopsyWebTopsyWeb holds the outline of "Unseen Childhoods: Disabled Characters in 20th Century Books for Girls" which looks at the way in which twentieth-century writers of girls' fiction have used disability in their books.

Bettany PressBettany Press published "Unseen Childhoods" in 2009, and the book is unique in that it is written by disabled women who reflect on their personal responses to their selected books. For more information please go to Bettany Press' page about "Unseen ChildhoodsUnseen Childhoods.

    Hobbies And Interests

I enjoy reading, watching television, writing for pleasure, and I collect children's books both as a hobby and as an investment, in particular, and girl's school-stories written prior to the 1970s. While in Milton Keynes I also enjoyed reading plays with a group called Fletchers Players.

Between 1998 and 2005 I was List Admin for an e-mail discussion list called Girlsowngoes to an external link, which discusses the appeal of girl's literature from all decades and all forms it takes.

I find working on websites very calming - even when they don't do what I want them to - and formalised my self-taught understanding of HTML in 2002 when I gained my Diploma in Web Design.

I was website designer for the New Chalet ClubNew Chalet Club from 1996 to 2004, and in the late autumn of 2003 I was asked to maintaina site for Claire Hall Consultancy (although since then Claire has gone to another web designer), and my umbrella site, called MalosaWebMalosaWeb brings all my websites together.

Note: the link to Claire's site does not always work first time.
